Linda Hamilton Joins the Cast of 'Stranger Things' for Final Season : The Indiependent
Terminator star Linda Hamilton is joining the cast of Stranger Things for its final season. The announcement was made at Netflix’s Tudum, a global fan event held this month. Hamilton, known best for playing Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise, said she was excited to be joining the cast for its fifth season. She stated, “I don’t know how to be a fangirl and an actress at the same time. I’m gonna work on that.” Though she wasn’t live onstage at the Tudum event in Brazil, Hamilton was introduced by long-time co-star Arnold Schwarznegger. The Chuck star replied: “Good to see you, Arnold. Let’s get dinner soon. And everyone else, I’ll see you in Hawkins.” This is the first casting announcement that’s been made for Stranger Things since the end of season four, which premiered in July last year.
The only other information that’s been disclosed since has been the title of the first episode – ‘The Crawl’ – which the Duffer Brothers revealed on Stranger Things Day on November 6, 2022. They have also explained that much of the final season will be hung on the 25-page mythology document they wrote for Netflix during the creation of season one. Ross Duffer told Geeked Week last year, “The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve punted a couple of those to have some big reveals in season five. And that’s really going to affect what season five is about.”
The last we saw of the Hawkins crowd they had just witnessed the tearing apart of their beloved town at the hands of Vecna, the cast’s biggest foe to date, despite defeating him. You can watch the trailer for season four below:There are a number of questions that have been left unanswered, most likely on purpose, by the Duffer Brothers. However, production for this series has been ground to a halt due to the ongoing writers’ strike in Hollywood. The Duffers said in a joint statement on Twitter: “Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then – over and out.”
